Innovation Consultant / Project Scaling

Duration: 12 months | Start: early September 2024 | Location: Paris | Daily rate: according to profiles

We are looking for an innovation consultant, aimed at supporting the scaling up of projects financed on behalf of our banking client (Financing and Development Bank) based in Paris.

Context :
You will mainly participate in the experimental project of a new profession within a development organization, aimed at supporting the scaling up of funded projects, promising in terms of impact and capable of being swarmed. The objective is to multiply the impact to more quickly achieve the 2030 agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The approach consists of refining the vision of possible swarming according to the context of the country or region, building a deployment strategy with the stakeholders, and establishing an effective round table for financing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Project Analysis and Selection: Select the most favorable projects for replication, assess the potential for deployment in the region, analyze the capacity of the actors and any shortcomings in the institutional framework.
• Strategy and Deployment: Co-construct a concept note with the project operator, detailing the geographic or sectoral vision of the scaling up, its methods and its financing.
• Advocacy: Build and present convincing arguments internally to promote the relevance of the new profession, and externally to convince stakeholders, operators, financiers and public authorities.
• Networking and Resource Mobilization: Prepare consultancy contracts, build a network of partners within donors to facilitate the scaling up process.
• Measurement and Reporting: Measure efforts, build an economic model of the business, and ensure regular reporting to the organization's bodies and partners.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Development and Innovation Issues: In-depth understanding of development issues, financing methods, climate issues, biodiversity, inclusion.
• Analysis Capacity: Market analysis, economic analysis, capacity of actors, and institutional framework.
• Advocacy Strength: Ability to convince both internally and externally.
• Excellent Relationship: Creation and management of a network of partners.
• Writing Ease: Clear and convincing presentation of approaches and analyses, writing of reports and terms of reference for studies.
• Rigor and Tenacity: Careful monitoring of support for innovation activities.
• Organizational skills: Effective management of events and liaison with partners.
• Ability to Lead Cross-functional Projects: Strategic vision, autonomy, and ability to propose solutions in complex environments.

Mission Details:
Duration: 6 months, renewable depending on results and needs.
Start Date: September 2024.
Location: Mainly based in Paris with frequent travel to the regions of intervention.
