Freelance Data Governance Practitioner (Automotive)
Duration : 1 year | Start date: ASAP in January | Location: Full Remote (+ Brussels 1d/month) | Daily rate : 500€
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Practitioner to support our client in the design and implementation of a comprehensive data governance strategy for Connected Technologies. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and integrating data privacy principles into the development lifecycle.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design a strategy and direction for connected car data governance with a customer-centric approach, including a clear vision and roadmap.
- Establish a compliance program for Connected Technologies, ensuring adherence to privacy regulations (GDPR, Data Privacy, Competition Law, data anonymization/minimization).
- Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products, features, and services to mitigate privacy risks.
- Collaborate with product development teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles.
- Act as a key point of contact for privacy-related projects, understanding technical and functional requirements.
- Provide guidance on data collection, processing, and sharing practices to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor updates in privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards to maintain compliance and adapt programs accordingly.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and external consultants on complex privacy issues.
- Define and deliver training on the usage of vehicle data within the organization, including subsidiaries and retailers.

- A connected car data governance strategy and roadmap.
- A comprehensive compliance program for Connected Technologies.
- Privacy impact assessment reports.
- Training materials and sessions on vehicle data governance.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in data governance and privacy regulations (GDPR, compliance, data anonymization).
- Proven ability to conduct privacy impact assessments and integrate privacy-by-design principles.
- Experience collaborating with technical and functional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with changes in privacy laws and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
Details
Start date: ASAP in January
End Date: End of March (should be a long term assignment based on candidate performance, will be extended on yearly basis)
Location: Fully remote, with one trip per month to Brussels.
Daily Rate: €500/day
