General accountant

On behalf of one of our clients based near Lille:

We are seeking a General Accounting Consultant to oversee the general accounting of 2 US entities of our client, working closely with the North America CFO.

Context

Within the central financial department based near Lille (59), the general accountant will supervise the general accounting of the group's 2 American entities, working in close collaboration with the financial director for North America.

Roles and Responsibility:

1.Accounting management

• Maintain the general accounting of the American entity in accordance with IFRS standards and the group's accounting policies.
• Ensure timely reliability of monthly and annual accounts

2.Internal control and process improvement

• Maintain and improve effective internal control procedures and accounting processes to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Identify potential risks and propose corrective measures to minimize accounting errors and increase closing efficiency.
• Optimize existing financial processes or, where appropriate, suggest and implement new processes with the aim of improving efficiency and automation.

3.Collaboration and coordination

• Work closely with finance teams in France and the United States to ensure consistency of financial reporting and processes.
• Facilitate communication between the US entity and the head office in France by providing regular updates on financial statement and accounting activities.

Required profile :

• Experienced accountant
• At least 5 years of experience in corporate finance and/or an audit firm, ideally with some experience working with international organizations
• Experience leading financial projects and/or implementing process improvements or policy changes
• Experience in basic R2R (Record to Report) accounting and if possible in P2P (entry, reconciliation and payment of invoices within the scope for the moment in addition to R2R).
• Experience in project accounting under IFRS15
• Comfortable and experienced working with colleagues in different time zones, from different cultural backgrounds
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Mastery of Excel and tools such as MS Dynamics 365 / Business Central, PowerBI, SAP 4 HANA
